BCOTB Provides IEP Support for our Clients

At Behavioral Consulting of Tampa Bay, many of our clients have special needs and are school-aged. Therefore, due to the Individuals with Disabilities Act, these children are provided with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) which is intended to help each child reach their academic potential by outlining annual goals and specifying modifications and accomodations. The IEP team meets at least once per year to modify the IEP and includes individuals such as the parents, family members, friends, therapists, teachers, and other pertinent school personnel.

In order to ensure that your child is gaining access to all if the appropriate services available (speech therapy, occupational therpay, physical therapy, functional behavior assessment, etc.) and that their annual goals are functional, appropriate, and specific, it is important that you invite others to attend the annual meetings to advocate on behalf of your family and your child.

At BCOTB, we conduct an initial skills assessment of your child that includes areas such as language, play skills, social skills, self-help skills and academic skills. Once the skill assessment has been completed, we provide support and advocacy for our clients prior to, during, and after their annual IEP meeting. With a knowledgable and experienced Behavior Analyst on your team, your child will be set up for success. For more information about our services, please contact us at info@bcotb.com.
