Behavioral Consulting of Tampa Bay (BCOTB) was founded in 2003 by President and Founder Kelley Prince, M.A., BCBA. This October, BCOTB celebrated 18 years of serving the Tampa Bay community by providing top quality ABA services with an emphasis on verbal behavior. BCOTB utilizes the science of behavior to assess and treat problem behaviors and skill deficits in children from 18 months to 10 years of age. Our skill acquisition programs are customized for each child’s learning needs and focus on teaching language and communication, daily living skills, and appropriate peer and social skills. BCOTB uses function-based behavioral interventions to promote adaptive skill acquisition and reduction of inappropriate behaviors.

BCOTB has also reached many significant milestones, including revenue growth of 85%, the opening and expansion of four clinics, and the creation of more than 80 jobs in the Tampa Bay area. BCOTB has also been recognized for several awards including ranking among Tampa Bay Business Journal’s ‘Fast 50’ for 2021. Companies recognized in the ‘Fast 50’ list are privately held, locally owned, located in the Tampa Bay area, and have achieved annual revenue growth substantially above market from 2019 to 2021.

One of BCOTB’s most recent and notable achievements occurred due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. BCOTB demonstrated dedication to the needs of its clients by adapting in an effort to maintain medically necessary therapies while minimizing risk of exposure to team members, clients, and caregivers. During this unprecedented time, BCOTB not only continued to provide safe and high-quality ABA services to our clients but was also able to increase revenue from the previous year and increase the number of employees on payroll.

“We have been proudly serving the Tampa Bay Autism community since 2003. We continue to strive to be the best training and supervision site for those working to become Behavior Analysts, while also expanding our services and locations for our valued clients in order to provide the most effective and highest-quality ABA therapy services in Tampa Bay.” – Kelley Prince, M.A., BCBA

As the new year approaches, the BCOTB team is looking forward to upcoming changes. BCOTB has recently created and filled the positions of Client Transition Liaison and Assistant Client Transition Liaison to better support our learners as they graduate from BCOTB and move on to new, more appropriate community providers. We are also excited to expand once again into a fifth location in the Tampa Bay Area. BCOTB will also be offering Saturday sessions across all locations beginning in January, including a new social skills group for our older learners meeting at our Carrollwood location.

In the new year BCOTB will also be reinstating our group responding program across all clinics. The purpose of our group responding program is to allow learners to practice appropriate responding in a classroom setting with a larger teacher to student ratio. BCOTB offers three group responding curricula depending on learner’s age. The Toddler Achievement Program (18 months to 3.5 years old) focuses on tolerating sitting in a group setting, responding to simple instructions, and introducing basic academics such as shapes and colors. The School Readiness Program (3.5 to 5 years old) prepares learners for participating in group games and activities, following multi-step instructions, and engaging in social activities with other peers. The School Success Program (5-10 years old) focuses on reinforcing the social, language, and academic skills taught at the learner’s primary school setting.
